We had a great turnout at Tuesday’s 3rd Annual Tech Expo! At City Hall for the first time, the Tech Expo gave San Francisco residents the opportunity to try the latest in Assistive Technology and VR, learn about local tech training programs and affordable Internet options, and so much more by engaging with over 30 organizations from across San Francisco. Thank you to each and every one of our exhibitors, staff, and volunteers for helping to make this event a great one!

Join us on Saturday May 11 during Connect with Tech Week for the Bayview Tech Fair at the Bayview Branch Library! A collaboration with , , and , this event will give attendees the chance to get free tech support, learn about affordable Internet options, and try their hand at coding or building a computer. And while supplies last, attendees can also receive a free refurbished desktop computer! Excited to see all Bayview community members there!

The Office of Digital Equity’s intern, Julia Isabel Rivera, co-taught yesterday’s first of four sessions of the Computer Skills Quick Start at the San Francisco Public Library. Come by every Tuesday this month from 3:30-5:30PM to learn about Microsoft Word, sending emails, and internet safety—and to have your shot at winning a desktop computer! Had a great time at last Friday’s celebration of the newly renovated Westside Courts affordable housing community in the Western Addition. All buildings and units have been beautifully remodeled and will come with high-speed home Internet for residents. Thanks to Danielle from FRH Consulting and Project Level for the invite!

Last week, we had the opportunity to join do community outreach at Hunters Point West. Together with organizations including Dev/Mission and Community Tech Network, we went door-to-door to tell residents about youth and tech programs available right in their community, and to find out about their experience with the internet. Looking forward, we'll continue our outreach to tell more residents about all the wonderful programs and resources available to them.

The Main Library's Veterans Resource Center provides veterans help for finding information online about veteran benefits, resources, local services, and other support. Drop in at the 5th floor Golden Gate Room anytime from Monday to Friday from 12-5pm to get assistance from the library's trained volunteers!
