San Francisco’s K2C program is the first universal Child Savings Account program in the country!
K2C is a college savings initiative for kindergartners entering the San Francisco Unified School District. Each eligible child starts kindergarten with a savings account, containing an initial deposit of $50 from the City and County of San Francisco. If you are, know, or work with youth ages 14-24 in San Francisco, this is for you: we are very proud to announce that we have remodeled and relaunched the Opportunities for Youth page on the SFGov website!
The new page features a wide array of programs, jobs, internships, and other opportunities for youth ages 14-24, now in a more user-friendly and engaging format.
Here are a few examples from the page:
- FACESSF Youth Job and Resource Fair. Specifically for job-seeking youth ages 16-24, this excellent annual event is coming up on Saturday, March 7, 2026!
- Kindergarten to College's annual Art and Video Contests for San Francisco Unified School District students in grades K-12. Get those creative juices flowing, submit art or video on the theme of “A Future Worth Saving For,” and get money for your K2C account! Submissions are due by March 23, 2026.
- Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) and San Francisco Human Rights Commission's application for Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP), San Francisco YouthWorks, and Opportunities for All. Filling out this application should be your first move if you are a teen who wants a job this summer. Applications are due by April 10, 2026.
