Like many students, Angela Ramirez had a dream college in mind. But being a student with a single mom, the path to college was costly and unclear. Tipping Point grantee Bridge the Gap made all the difference.
From college counseling to support with financial aid, Bridge the Gap helped Angela every step of the way to get into, and afford, her dream school. Now, she's making the Dean's List, working towards a major she's passionate about, and getting ready to study abroad.
A college degree is one of the most reliable ways to break the cycle of poverty—but for many, the path to isn't always clear. That's why we invest in grantees like Bridge the Gap, who are helping provide students the support they need to get on a path to success.

Each year, the reminds us of the incredible milestones our neighbors reach each day. Students getting into their dream schools, being the first in their family to graduate college—these moments are what Tipping Point works for.
This year, we're honored to feature stories from Bridge the Gap, EdTrust-West, and Larkin Street Youth Services—grantees who work in and with their communities to help people like Angela Ramirez, Jordan Jones, and Jordan Calley open pathways to opportunity.
Thank you to our amazing speakers for sharing their stories, our grantees who help make those stories possible, and our community for continuing to support this work and our region. ☀️
