This is a sad day for D3. I am very sorry to hear our duly elected CM Torres is under investigation for serious charges. While he is entitled to due process under law, and whatever the outcome of the investigation may be, if he claims he is suffering from mental health problems, he needs to heal on his own, and not at the expense of D3 residents. As a public servant, he should have the courage and a sense of responsibility to step aside to deal with his problems--but let D3 move on. I will paste my quote in a recent news interview here:

"We're very vibrant, we're full of dreams and issues. We need constant representation," said Elizabeth Chien-Hale with the San Jose Downtown Residents Association (immediate Past President).

Our pilot AAPI Heritage Month celebration at the History Park of San Jose, before the Chinese History and Cultural Museum. The other Asian museums--the Viet Museum and the Japanese Friendship Garden--also contributed to this celebration. The museums pulled their resources together and invited several performance groups representing the cultures across Asian Pacific. The Chinese History and Cultural Museum was the biggest champion for this event; we also thank a grant from D7 Council Office. We should have a better celebration next year.
