Last Friday, we attended the Alum Rock Counseling Center ARCC's annual luncheon at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose. More than 220 guests came together to support mental health services for communities in Santa Clara County.
The event honored Blanca Alvarado, a former FIRST 5 commissioner, for her lifelong achievements and advocacy supporting women, children, public health, and community programs. The event also celebrated the Alum Rock Counseling Centerβs 2026 Super Role Model, Dean McCully. It was heartwarming to see the community celebrate these two individuals and the impact they have made, large and small, on people around them.
We thank the Alum Rock Counseling Center for its continued work supporting the academic, mental health, and social needs of youth and families of East San Jose. We hope we can all continue to inspire and support youth to reach their full potential.

π Strengthen your bond with your child and make new local friends! π
We are excited to highlight Infant Music & Movement + Raising a Reader, two wonderful, FREE programs designed specifically for caregivers and children ages 0-36 months. Hosted by Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, these sessions blend the joy of music with the power of early reading.
Through guided movement and rhythm, you'll help your child develop essential skills while building a supportive local community. πΆπ
