As we celebrate National Donut Day, we remember the "Donut Dollies" - the popular nickname given to American Red Cross volunteers who served near the front lines during the Vietnam, Korean, and World Wars. Armed with smiles and games, they traveled by jeep and helicopter to bring a brief taste of home, emotional support, and a morale boost to troops.
