Gavilan College Welcomes New PIO

Gavilan Community College welcomes Rosie Zepeda, M.Ed. as its new Public Information Officer.

Rosie served as the Director of Media, Governmental Relations and Marketing at City College of San Francisco and has over 20 years of experience in Public Relations, community outreach, internal/external communications strategies, and government relations. Rosie holds a M.S. in Education from Herbert Lehman College, Bronx, NY and a B.A. in Theatre Arts, Spanish, with a minor in Communication Studies from Santa Clara University.
Gavilan’s new PIO shared: “Gavilan College’s rich history as a Hispanic Serving Institution, with core values for a more personalized experience, match my goal to serve and provide outreach for both of our unique south county communities. I am also delighted to be employed closer to my family.”
Gavilan’s Superintendent/President, Dr. Kathleen Rose commented: “The entire college is so excited Rosie has joined our Gavilan family. Aside from her superb professional skill set, as a first-generation college student herself with family roots dating back to 1975, Rosie has a deep cultural understanding of the students and communities we serve.
