AIM's mission is to expand the frontiers of mathematical knowledge with focused research projects, sponsored conferences, and an extensive math library.

The American Institute of Mathematics aims to expand the frontiers of mathematical knowledge through focused research projects, sponsored conferences, and the development of an online mathematics library. In addition, AIM is interested in helping to preserve the history of mathematics through the acquisition and preservation of rare mathematical books and documents and in making these materials available to scholars of mathematical history.

We are currently accepting applications for our 2nd cohort of MATCH Fellows (“MATCHing Mathematicians with Classrooms Nationwide.”)!

MATCH is a semester-long program, directed by AIM and sponsored by MAA Tensor SUMMA, that pairs mathematicians interested in K-12 outreach with socio-economically disadvantaged middle school classrooms. The program aims to improve historically underrepresented students’ attitudes towards mathematics and their mathematical confidence by providing engaging mathematical experiences and meaningful opportunities to interact with practicing mathematicians, or MATCH Fellows.

Please visit the MATCH website (https://buff.ly/3cectvO) to apply by the priority deadline of June 30, 2022.
