Mr. Mac’s 2026 Trip to Washington D.C., Richmond, Williamsburg, Jamestown & Yorktown, VA | WorldStrides 08/21/2025

Attention Parents of Current 8th Graders:

If you have not yet registered your 8th Grader for this Spring’s Washington DC Trip, now is the time to get on board. We have already sold out the first bus and are well on the way to filling the second bus as well. Less than 35 spots remain until the trip is completely sold out.

This is the time of year, with school back in session, that we see a surge in interest and the trip sells out. This year’s itinerary will provide an exciting and informative trip as we visit not only Washington DC, but also Baltimore, Richmond, Virginia and the Historic Triangle of Colonial WIlliamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown.

Below is a link to our DC Trip webpage, which contains all the information for the trip as well as the registration portal. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Mac. during Back to School Night or email him at [email protected]. Please note that this is not a school-sponsored trip.

I am thrilled to announce that on next Tuesday, April 22, we will be having the Intake Meeting for the 2026-27 trip, as well as information for those 7th grade families who have not yet signed up for the 2025-26 trip. (If you have already registered your 7th grader for next year’s trip, you do not need to attend this informational meeting.) It will begin at 7:00 in the Media Center.

At the Intake Meeting, we will open registration for the 2026-27 trip. We will first present the itinerary for your student’s trip, and provide the link to the trip webpage, which includes the registration portal. For interested families of current 7th graders, we will also have information on next year’s trip, which currently has only 30 spots left before it is sold out.

Since these trips almost always sell out, leaving some students left on the waitlist, many parents have expressed an interest in getting their student signed up as early as possible. So, this is a night that many parents register their students for their trip, leaving with the peace of mind that their student is all set and their spot is assured. As an added benefit, this gives families much more time to spread the payments out on their trip.

Please note, this is not a school-sponsored trip. Therefore it is difficult to promote the trip through normal channels such as school fliers and posters. So, if you have any friends that you think might be interested in our trips, please feel free to have them contact me or just attend the meeting.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at Tuesday night’s meeting. In the meantime, should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Thank you. Mr. Mac.

Here's the Latest Flier for the Informational Meeting this Thursday, September 5 at 7:00pm in the Media Center. Since this year's trip only has 2 spots left before it's sold out, the meeting will predominantly be for current 7th graders' 2026 trip, but we will talk about this year's 2025 trip if anyone is interested. Hope to see you there.

I wanted to share WorldStrides' latest flier for the 2025 trip. Hurry, hurry...Less than 30 spots til we are completely sold out.

04/23/2024

Greetings. Having just returned from one of our best East Coast trips ever, and heading into the craziness of the end of the school year, here’s an update on the upcoming 8th grade Washington DC Trips.

Most likely the fantastic experience that everyone had on the trip has led to an increase in registrations for next year’s trip. We now have somewhere around 30 spots left until next year’s trip is completely sold out. It might be a good idea to get this out of the way before things get really busy at the start of next school year. Once those spots are filled, registrants will be added to a wait list in case others cancel off the trip, but why not lock your spot in now and avoid the worry? Email [email protected] for more information.

As for current 6th graders, interest in their 2026 trip remains strong as well. We are currently compiling a list of interested travelers so that we can email them when we have the Intake Meeting that opens registration for the trip. That meeting will either be later next month or soon after the start of the 2024-25 school year. Interested parties can be added to the list by sending an email to [email protected].

As yet another incredible trip comes to an end, it’s time to post some memories from our itinerary. Hard to believe we did all this and so much more while in DC, NYC, and Boston. Looking forward to next year and beyond, we have less than 40 spots til the 2025 trip is sold out, and we are currently compiling a list of parent emails for notification when we open registration for the 2026 trip later this Spring or at the beginning of next school year. Interested? Send an email to [email protected]

2025 Trip to Washington, D.C., New York City, Gettysburg and Philadelphia | WorldStrides 06/15/2023

An Early Summer Greeting to those interested in our Washington DC Trips!

With the year-end rush, things have heated up considerably with regards to these non-school sponsored 2024 and 2025 trips to the East Coast over Spring Break in each 8th grader’s year.

For next year’s 2024 trip, there remains only 6 spots until the trip is completely sold out. On this “don’t miss” itinerary, we will be visiting Washington DC, New York City and Boston.

For those currently entering into 7th grade, we have already sold out the first bus and have only 45 spots remaining. The itinerary for the 2025 trip will be Washington DC, New York City, Gettysburg and Philadelphia!

For those thinking that it might be best to wait until the start of the school year, a gentle reminder on how this trip usually sells out. So, why not lock in your student’s (and perhaps your) spot on the trip and rest assured that they’ll be participating in the trip in spring of their 8th grade year?
