🚨A single payer system ensures everyone, especially low income and vulnerable communities can access care during climate emergencies. It improves emergency response, supports mental and physical health, and helps reduce health disparities made worse by climate change. 🚨

In the US, one-fifth of all households have medical debt and if a household has medical debt, this increases the chance of food insecurity within that household. These top earning executives make millions per year while Americans struggle to pay off medical bills, let alone have certain medications, procedures, or visits approved by their health insurance. Low income families struggle as well as the middle class because many do not “qualify” for assistance. A single payer system would eliminate many of the struggles that people face within this healthcare system and people will not have to choose between paying their medical bills or providing food for their families.

Such a great turnout at the Berryessa Farmers Market! We had an amazing time connecting with community members and hearing the personal stories and experiences they shared. Huge thank you to Berryessa Farmers Market, Nassim, and Peggy! In times like these, community engagement and advocacy are so important as we work toward meaningful change. ❤️

ICE presence near healthcare worsens delays in care. No one should feel unsafe seeking medical help or leaving home. We need to have these conversations as a community and advocate for safe, accessible care for all.

Concerns of Healthcare Access in America include cost concerns, delayed care, and insurance issues.

Most Americans support the idea that the federal government should ensure healthcare coverage for ALL residents.

Single-payer healthcare would eliminate all these healthcare access concerns in America. Healthcare is a human right!

HEALTH FACT:
High costs of medical care caused 49% of Californians to postpone care resulting in worse health outcomes in
2022.

Lack of access to care due to cost barriers leads to preventable suffering and death. Healthcare should not be seen as a privilege only for those who can afford it. Single-payer healthcare would diminish this health inequity providing universal coverage for EVERYONE!

The homeless community is suffering a crisis of healthcare.

On average, those who are homeless experience higher rates of illness and die 12 years sooner than the general U.S. population.

Single-Payer healthcare would address this healthcare crisis through universal coverage, elimination of financial barriers, and access to mental health care and substance abuse treatment.
