High-quality Early Education programs & resources to learn, play, connect and grow!

SJPL’s mission is to foster lifelong learning and ensure that every member of the community has access to a vast array of ideas and information. Since the first five years of a child’s life are the most critical in terms of learning and development, the Library is committed to prioritizing early education services to ensure the community has access to the resources it needs to help young children from birth to five in San José become lifelong learners.

We are so proud to celebrate two amazing, San José Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Recreational Preschool classrooms for completing the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge! 🌟

Through story time, laughter, imagination, and a love for learning, our young readers have listened to and explored 1,000 books together—an incredible milestone that helps build early literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading. 📖❤️

A huge THANK YOU to the dedicated teachers and supportive families who made this achievement possible. Your encouragement, enthusiasm, and commitment to reading each day truly made a difference.
