Behavioral health services in our community are changing, and we want to hear from you!

Join us at one of our upcoming community engagement sessions and share your ideas for improving mental health and substance use services in Alameda County. Your input will help shape the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) Integrated Plan Annual Update for Fiscal Year 2027–2028.

Sessions are organized by Board of Supervisor district and are open to the public. To register for your district's listening session, visit the link below or scan the QR code.

Join us this Tuesday, October 20th, for a discussion addressing breast cancer and homelessness in Alameda County, led by the Alameda County Public Health Commission. The discussion will include panelists from across the county.

The panelists are:

Tri Do, MD, MPH - Medical Director of Alameda County Healthcare for the Homeless - Housing and Homeless Services

Dr. Kevin B. Knopf - Oncologist/Hematologist at Sutter Hospital and Cancer Economist
Yan Boon Long, Chief Innovation Officer, and Amir Kakavand - Managing Partner, DSK Architecture

🦷✨ National Dental Hygiene Month: Healthy Habits, Healthier Smiles! 💙

📌 What:
October is National Dental Hygiene Month! It’s a great opportunity to promote healthy daily oral hygiene habits and recognize the dedicated dental hygienists who help keep our communities healthy.

💡 Why It Matters:
Good oral hygiene and preventive dental care help prevent tooth decay and gum disease while supporting overall health and well-being. Dental hygienists play an essential role in prevention, patient education, and helping individuals and families maintain healthy smiles.

✅ What You Can Do:
🦷 Brush twice daily for two minutes with fluoride toothpaste.
🪥 Floss or clean between your teeth every day
💧 Drink water, limit sugary beverages and snacks
📅 Keep up with regular dental visits to help maintain healthy teeth and gums
💙 Show appreciation for dental hygienists and the important work they do to promote oral health in our communities.
