The work behind the ride starts long before the call.

When CCT Nurse Erin Zink and EMTs Kiana Zahedi and Jake Sharp responded to a cardiac emergency, they relied on more than their clinical skills. They relied on preparation, communication, and the trust they’d built working together.

Every crew member had a role. Every detail mattered. And through it all, the patient remained their priority.

One team. One safe transport.

This week, Royal Ambulance EMTs trained alongside nurses and flight crew members from UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, as well as REACH flight crews, during a joint NICU critical care transport training.

Trainings like these keep everyone on the same page before the real call comes in. Better communication, stronger coordination, and a shared focus on safety ultimately mean a better experience for our smallest patients and their families during an already stressful time.

We’re grateful for partnerships that allow us to train together, learn from one another, and continue raising the standard of care. Thank you UCSF Benioff Children’s and REACH for continuing to train alongside us.
