Crew Excellence! 🚨

During what was expected to be a routine wait-and-return appointment, EMTs Brandon Larson & Jacqueline Yepez, alongside CCT RN Kassandra, faced a sudden cardiac arrest in the back of the ambulance while returning from the appointment. 🚑

Jacqueline immediately jumped in to assist Kassandra with CPR, while Brandon made the critical decision to divert Code 3 to the nearest hospital. Through quick thinking, strong communication, and teamwork, the crew was able to achieve ROSC. ❤️

Their response is a powerful example of the calm, clinical judgment, and teamwork required when a routine call quickly becomes a life-threatening emergency.

Great work Crew! 👏💙

Meet Raelynn Fontaine, EMT 💙🚑

Raelynn’s long-term goal is to become a firefighter, and she sees every shift as another opportunity to build the skills, confidence, and experience needs to get there. 🔥

One of her favorite parts of working in EMS is being able to provide patients with comfort, support, and quality care during some of their most difficult moments. She values working alongside her partner, Kat Anderson, and being part of a team she can rely on.

Since joining Westmed, Raelynn says she has especially improved her patient assessment skills, becoming more confident gathering information, recognizing changes in a patient’s condition, and communicating her findings with her partner and other healthcare providers.

Outside of work, she loves staying active, traveling, attending sporting events and festivals, and spending time with the people she cares about.

We’re grateful to have Raelynn on the Westmed team and excited to see where her journey in Emergency Services takes her next! 🚑🔥

Meet Bita Ciriaco, EMT and Field Training Specialist Westmed!

For Bita, being a Field Training Specialist is about more than just the job. It’s about helping others grow while continuing to challenge herself. She believes teaching is one of the best ways to truly master your craft, and through training new EMTs, she’s grown both professionally and personally.

One of the most rewarding parts for her is watching new EMTs gain confidence. Her advice to new EMTs is simple. “Stay open to learning and be willing to learn, take feedback, and grow from experience. “

Thank you Bita for your commitment to excellence. Westmed is a better place with leaders like you! 👏🚑
