ILLEGAL STREET RACING
CASE #: 2026-25851

On October 6th, San Luis Police Department Motor Officers responded to a three vehicle collision at the intersection of San Luis Ln. and 8th Ave. Two of the drivers were transported to the hospital at the time as a result of the sustained injuries.

After days of investigation, two out of the three drivers were found responsible for the accident as evidence points out they were racing on the roadway. The two drivers involved in the illegal race were traveling at speeds of approximately 80mph on 8th Ave. which is a 25mph zone.

The two drivers racing on the roadway, one adult and one minor, were arrested and booked in jail last week. The third person involved, an 82 year old man, was recently discharged from the hospital.

SCHOOL LOCKDOWN
CASE: #2026-26587

At about 0721 hours, Officers from the San Luis Police Department responded to the San Luis High School regarding citizen reports of a vehicle with students carrying what appeared to be a gun.

SLPD units moved swiftly to the SLHS area and located the vehicle at the parking lot of the school occupied by two students. As a standard procedure, the school went into lockdown while officers secured the area. A consensual search resulted in a toy water gun located.

At 0750 hours, the lockdown was lifted and school resumed classes. The case is still being investigated by the SLPD and school administration is involved.

The San Luis Police Department is urgently requesting the public's assistance in locating the parents, guardians, or family members of a young child found wandering alone at the Sandoval Park.

The child was found today 10/11/2026 at approximately 1326 hours. The child appears to be safe and is currently under the care of local authorities, but officers have been unable to identify the child or locate the family.

Clothing - Diaper/No Clothing
Location Found - 312 N. Frank Sandoval Ct. (Sandoval Park)
