A Hays County judge has sentenced 30-year-old Austin Tyler Jordan to life in prison for continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Jordan was convicted by a Hays County jury in July of continuous sexual abuse of a child, indecency with a child and online solicitation of a minor. After a punishment hearing on Oct. 22, the 483rd District Court judge imposed a life sentence, along with the maximum sentence of 10 years for each of the other two convictions. The sentences will run concurrently.

“A life sentence ensures not just the safety of the survivor, but the safety of every female who might cross his path,” Assistant District Attorney Katie Arnold said.

Jordan is not eligible for parole on the life sentence.

Assistant District Attorneys Katie Arnold and Abby Whitaker prosecuted the case.

A Hays County jury has sentenced 61-year-old Josue Salinas Jr. to two life sentences following his conviction for super aggravated sexual assault of a child, continuous sexual abuse of children and indecency with a child.

The case involved multiple survivors who came forward with allegations of sexual abuse spanning more than two decades.

“I hope the bravery and resilience of these children in coming forward encourages other survivors of sexual abuse to speak up. Without their courage, this man would still be offending.”

The case was prosecuted by Hays County Assistant District Attorneys Katie Arnold and Phillip Guebert.

Salinas is not eligible for parole on either life sentence.
