Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests for Multiple Charges and Outstanding Warrants

San Mateo, CA – On October 22, 2026, at approximately 4:58 p.m., San Mateo Police Department (SMPD) officers responded to the 500 block of East Santa Inez Avenue following a report of individuals smoking a suspected narcotic substance inside a silver Infiniti SUV.

Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle matching the description double-parked with its hazard lights activated and four occupants inside. Officers also observed the vehicle had expired registration and initiated a traffic stop.

During the investigation, officers located an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle and contacted front-seat passenger Ramona Johnson, who exhibited an odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. Officers determined Johnson was on active probation and had multiple outstanding arrest warrants. During a probation search of Johnson's bag, officers located a driver's license belonging to an individual not associated with the incident. Additionally, officers observed a glass smoking pipe containing burnt residue in plain view inside the front passenger door compartment.

Officers also contacted a rear-seat passenger, Nicole Green, who provided false identifying information during the investigation. After confirming Green's identity, officers discovered she also had multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Based on the investigation, Johnson was arrested for identity theft, a probation violation, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and multiple outstanding warrants. Green was arrested for providing false information to a peace officer and multiple outstanding warrants. Both Johnson and Green were transported to the San Mateo County Jail, where they were booked on their respective charges and warrants.

The San Mateo Police Department encourages community members to remain vigilant and report crimes or suspicious activity. If you observe suspicious behavior, vehicles, or activity, please contact the San Mateo Police Department.

See Something, Say Something.

🌧️ El Niño might bring the rain, but a little preparation can keep you from getting soaked! 💦

Speaking of good advice from our friends at the San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department, now is the perfect time to get ahead of the storm!

You're covered with sandbag locations throughout San Mateo, Belmont, and Foster City. 📍

If applicable, don't wait until the water is rising to start preparing. A few sandbags in the right places can make a big difference in protecting your home and property.

Good advice from our friends at San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department.

Forecasters expect a very strong El Niño this winter. If a storm cuts power or closes roads in Belmont, Foster City, or San Mateo, you may need to get by on your own for a few days. BUILD A KIT before the first storm:

• Water and food for 3 days
• Medications and medical supplies
• Flashlight, batteries, a hand-crank or battery-powered radio, and a car or solar phone charger or power bank
• Copies of IDs, insurance, and other important documents in a waterproof bag, plus password-protected digital copies
• Supplies for pets

Start with what you already have at home and fill the gaps a little at a time. Checklist: ready.gov/kit. Share this with someone who lives alone.

This is your reminder that it’s beginning to get darker earlier and chances of rain are increasing. With this in mind, make sure to drive appropriately for conditions, leave extra space, reduce speed when visibility is limited, and make sure the equipment on your vehicle is in good working condition.

The days are shorter, but your attention span can’t be. Focus on your drive and watch for potential hazards.
