At Beacon House, we work with men whose lives have been shaped by years of addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and repeated setbacks. While most treatment programs are measured in weeks, real change often takes years. That's why the average stay at Beacon House is about three and a half years.
During that time, men receive individual counseling, group therapy, workforce and community reentry support, and legal advocacy. Every service is designed to help them build the stability and skills needed for lasting recovery. They are never charged a dime.
Our monthly giving community, Lighthouse Keepers, helps us allow men to stay in treatment long enough for real change to take hold. Month after month, these supporters ensure that recovery remains within reach for the men who need it most.
Recovery is happening every day at Beacon House. Lighthouse Keepers make it possible.

Addiction often causes people to become consumed with their own pain, without realizing the harm being done to the people who love them most. Families are often left carrying fear, heartbreak, and uncertainty every single day. Recovery changes that. With time and continued growth, healing becomes possible, and relationships can be rebuilt.
Today, Griffin is grateful for that opportunity. Knowing the pain his addiction caused his family serves as a daily reminder of why recovery matters, reinforcing his commitment to growth and becoming a source of stability in their lives

Our men recently took a camping trip to Silverwood Lake, stepping out of their normal routines for a few days of hiking, relaxing, and spending quality time together outdoors.
Some used the trip to slow down and recharge their batteries, while others stayed active and made the most of every adventure. Whether they were exploring the creek at night looking for frogs, climbing trees, or splashing in a lake for the first time, many of the men shared how meaningful it was to reconnect with their inner child.
They all came home with lots of stories and a deeper connection to our community.

Our men were happy to volunteer at this year’s Constitution Day celebration hosted by our neighbors at the Sjømannskirken i Los Angeles. This annual event celebrates Norway's independence and brings the community together through food, festivities, and a parade through the streets on San Pedro.
From directing traffic and serving food to bussing tables and washing dishes, our men were honored to lend a hand so church members could focus on welcoming the community and enjoying the celebration. It was a fun opportunity to serve alongside our neighbors and be part of a long-standing local tradition.

When he was younger, Tim began smoking w**d and drinking for fun. At the beginning, he had no idea that fentanyl would eventually bring him to his lowest point. It took losing nearly everything for him to find the willingness to ask for help.
When he arrived at Beacon House, he saw men living with real freedom. Over time, honesty and selflessness began to take root in his life and he started to feel some of that freedom himself.
Tim now works as an EMT and has plans to become a firefighter for the city of Los Angeles. He and his wife recently welcomed a beautiful daughter into the world, and he stays active in service because he knows that’s what keeps him grounded.

Our 9th Annual Beacon House Golf Tournament was testament to what happens when a community unites behind the mission of recovery.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came together to support this event: our sponsors, golfers, donors, dinner guests, volunteers, silent auction participants, and supporters near and far. Your kindness and generosity allow us to continue helping men discover a new way of life.
Recovery flourishes through connection and support, and this event proved that none of our men have to walk this path alone.

We are so grateful for the support of all our sponsors! Without your incredible generosity, our 9th Annual Beacon House Golf Tournament wouldn't have been possible.
Recovery changes lives far beyond the individuals. It creates a ripple effect of healing and transformation that reaches families, restores relationships, renews hope, and strengthens entire communities.
Because of your support, men at Beacon House are rebuilding their lives, reconnecting with loved ones, and creating brighter futures rooted in purpose and faith.
Let’s make today unforgettable.
