Things to Know Thursdays - Car Washing

Never let soapy water run into the gutter. Even natural biodegradable soap can make birds and animals sick and can be deadly to fish and amphibians in our creeks. The better solution is to take your car to the car wash where the dirty, soapy water goes to the wastewater treatment plant but if you do wash your car at home, divert the soapy wash water to a vegetated area where it can soak in and pour the remaining soapy water from the bucket down the sink.
