We send her forth, with deep appreciation, to start the next chapter of her life.

MARIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HOLIDAY CELEBRATION

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is honored to host a pre-holiday celebration and toy give-away at our Southern Marin (Marin City) Substation on December 19, 2023 and our West Marin (Pt. Reyes) Substation on December 21, 2023.

The day is meant to be a fun experience where children (ages 2-12) can visit a Big Guy in a Red Suit , take a photo and receive a gift. Our first annual toy give-away at our Southern Marin substation started in 2008 and this is our third annual toy give-away in Point Reyes Station.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is committed to being in partnership with our communities during this season of giving and as such, we are asking Marin County businesses and residents to donate an unwrapped toy to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office for the celebration. Toys can be dropped off at the following locations:

• Sheriff’s Main Office, 1600 Los Gamos Dr #200, San Rafael
• Southern Marin Substation, 850 Drake Avenue, Marin City
• Point Reyes Substation, 101 4th St, Point Reyes

We are asking for toys that are inclusive and boost self-esteem. Some toy suggestions are books, dolls of all nationalities, sports equipment, board games or gift certificates for our older children. Toy donations will be collected from now through December 18th at the locations listed above.

Marin officials sound alarm on e-bike risks The county has launched an online dashboard with data suggesting a high proportion of injured riders are under age 20.

Marin County’s newest grant program is FARE: Food, Agriculture, and Resilient Ecosystems. The program can support all aspects of our food systems, and is funded by the Parks Measure A sales tax. Thank you to Mr. Pribble for inviting me to speak at the 6th and 7th period Government classes at Tam High School. Great to meet the students, engage in thoughtful conversation and talk about issues important to them.

Be sure to drive mindfully and look out for cyclists and pedestrians, especially when turning right.

One of the most serious crashes occurs when drivers turn without looking for pedestrians and cyclists in the intersection. A common collision is when a car makes a right turn into a cyclist traveling straight across the intersection. Drivers must always LOOK before changing lanes or making turns.

Rain and wind are expected in Marin County this week. Take steps now to prepare!
