On October 14, 2026, we attended the 5th Annual Achievers Luncheon, hosted by the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives San Francisco Bay Area Chapter in Oakland, CA. The event celebrated the achievements and contributions of law enforcement executives throughout Northern California. A special tribute was also held in honor of the late Chief Marlon J. Washington, recognizing his remarkable legacy, leadership, and trailblazing contributions to the law enforcement profession.

On October 12, 2026, we hosted a Mobile Community Check-in Site in Novato, CA, where staff shared information about Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and distributed wristbands and treat bags to attending clients. Prevention, intervention, and healing are shared responsibilities. We remain committed to identifying opportunities to provide support, resources, and education that contribute to safer communities. In recognition of DVAM, we have also established an informational display in the reception area at the Marin County Civic Center office to raise awareness and provide resources related to domestic violence.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to honor and celebrate the rich histories, vibrant cultures, traditions, and lasting contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities whose roots trace back to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This month reminds us of the importance of embracing diversity, recognizing cultural heritage, and celebrating the individuals who have helped shape our communities and nation. As we celebrate, we recognize the resilience, achievements, and inspiring stories that continue to strengthen our communities and enrich our shared history.

On October 6, 2026, the Center for Domestic Peace hosted the Domestic Violence Awareness Month Panel Discussion and Purple Ribbon Awards at the College of Marin in Kentfield, CA.

Interim Chief Ed Randle served as a guest speaker. The event also included a special recognition of former Chief Marlon J. Washington, honoring his accomplishments and valuable contributions. Guest speakers and panelists engaged in meaningful discussions focused on raising awareness and strengthening community partnerships.

Congratulations to all the Purple Ribbon Award recipients for their dedication to making a positive impact in our communities!
