Marin County Young Democrats MCYD empowers young working people to make a difference in their community. We connect members with resources, endorse and elect candidates.

We are a group of students and young professionals between the ages of 14-38 years old who live, work, or go to school in Marin County dedicated to the values of the Democratic Party. Membership is open to registered Democrats age 18-35, and honorary associate memberships are available to all registered Democrats. 🗳️ MCYD DEBATE NIGHT: 2026 GENERAL ELECTION 🗳️

Marin County Young Democrats is hosting a debate for Assembly District 12, and we’re thrilled to welcome both candidates.

📅 Friday, October 16th
🕠 5:30pm
📍 709 Fifth Ave, San Rafael, CA 94901

The debate will be prepared and moderated by MCYD Executive Committee members PJ Nave and Stephany Barahona-Castro. Neither moderator has endorsed a candidate in the Assembly District 12 race, ensuring a neutral and impartial discussion.

The Executive Board has voted unanimously to pause our endorsement process for the 2026 General Election.

In lieu of endorsements, we are hosting a debate for one of Marin County’s marquee races: Assembly District 12.

This debate format gives both candidates the chance to engage directly and respond to each other.
