🇺🇸 Twenty-five years. And we still remember.

For many of us, September 11, 2001, is a day frozen in time. We remember where we were when the first tower was struck. We remember watching as everything began to unfold—the confusion, the disbelief, the fear, and the terrible realization that our country was under attack.

We remember the aftermath. The empty skies. The flags hanging from homes and businesses. The way neighbors checked on one another and an entire nation came together.

Most of all, we remember those who never made it home.

We honor the innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93. We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters, along with the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, dispatchers, and countless other helpers who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape. We also remember those who have continued to lose their lives from illnesses connected to their service at Ground Zero.

Twenty-five years later, a new generation has grown up without their own memories of that day. It is now our responsibility to tell them—to make sure they understand the sacrifice, the courage, and the unity that followed.

From all of us at the Sandborn Fire Department: we remember the fallen, we honor the survivors, and we remain grateful for every first responder who answered the call.

May we never forget—not only what happened that day, but how we came together in the days that followed.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Never Forgotten 🇺🇸
