Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you are loving this perfect fall weather.
This is just a reminder for the Sandoval community that we have been able to order books through the SHARE interlibrary loan system provided by Illinois Heartland Library System for a while now.
We have several Sandoval residents taking advantage of this system.
If you are wanting a book that we don't have in OUR library we can order it for you through this system. Sometimes it only takes a few days. If it is a new very popular book it may be on a waiting list so it may take a few weeks. We can also order books in large print, audible books and DVD's.
We are in the process of coding the books we have and when we have coded 80% we will be able to loan our collection to other libraries if requested.
So if you have a book you want call 618-552-3013 on Tuesday,Wednesday or Thursday from 12-6pm or come by at 118 E. Commercial St. Sandoval.
What better way to enjoy this weather but in a comfy chair outdoors with a book and your favorite fall beverage like a Pumpkin Spice latte?

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you all have been able to be outdoors enjoying this great weather.
The Sandoval Library's book club met October 1st. Eight members were present. The book THE BRIAR CLUB by Kate Quinn was our selection for October. The group gave it a 3.5 rating out of 5.
Next month's selection is LIFE AFTER LIFE by Jill McCorkle.

The FFA has planted some grapes and blackberries in the library's community garden. We need some fencing or a trellis to support them if anyone has either of these items they would like to donate.

Happy Hot Tuesday !!
Sandoval Library Book Club met Thursday Sept. 3rd at the Sandoval Library to discuss the novel: The First Time I saw Him by Laura Dave. We had mixed reviews. Some liked it and some didn't. Averaged a 2.9 out of 5.
Next month's selection is Briar Club by Kate Quinn published in 2024.
Briar Club unfolds in a shabby 1950s Washington boarding house where a magnetic new tenant, Grace March, lures her guarded neighbors—an ex-ballplayer, a polished English mother, a cop’s daughter tangled with a gangster, and a fervent Red Scare crusader—into fragile fellowship, until violence forces them to reckon with hidden loyalties.

Genres: Mystery, Historical Fiction, Suspense / Thriller
Themes: Women's struggle for autonomy, Impact of political fear on personal lives, Chosen family and friendship as survival.

Mini Food Pantry Reminder: We welcome donations of non-perishable goods! If you have unopened items to spare, please consider dropping them off at Sandoval Public Library. High-demand items are canned proteins (tuna/chicken), hearty soups, boxed meals are always deeply appreciated. Of course anything else you can think of is more than appropriate.
