Each year during fire prevention week Sandown Fire-Rescue hosts the children of Sandown’s day cares and the TLC at our fire station, and travels to Sandown North Elementary to teach them age appropriate fire safety tips. It’s a favorite time each year to work with the kids and see them during non-emergency times.

Yesterday the Raymond Fire Department held services for Firefighter Eric Phillips, who answered his last alarm on September 4th in the line of duty. Sandown Fire-Rescue was honored to cover the Raymond station the night of September 5th with our ladder, and car 1. Providing coverage allowed them to continue to process and grieve.

During yesterday’s services we supported them again by sending 7 members to the services, while two more stayed behind to cover the station. We also support them with one member assigned to the Granite State Fire Service Support Team that provided planning and support to Raymond Fire.

On Wednesday September 16, at 2:12 PM Sandown Fire-Rescue was dispatched along with automatic aid to a reported structure fire on Waterford Dr. The Duty crew responded with Ladder Three with two members Tank One responded with one member from home.

Ambulance One responded with two additional members who came from home and Car one responded with the Fire Chief.

The fire was upgraded to a second alarm. Bringing in multiple mutual aid.

We appreciate the assistance from all departments.

Today, Sandown Fire-Rescue honors and remember all of those lost on 9/11, and those who have passed away since due to 9/11 related illness.

During Tuesdays EMS training members utilized the NH Fire Academy high fidelity sim mannequin and worked on trauma/amputation skills.
