LTC Eddie Helton, U.S. Army (Retired)
Some men answer the call to serve their country once. Others dedicate decades of their lives to that calling. Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Helton is one of those men.
Drafted into the United States Army in 1967, Eddie served in Vietnam in 1968. After leaving the service to complete his business degree, he answered the call again, reenlisting in 1970 and returning for a second tour in Vietnam in 1971.
His commitment to service continued as he completed Officer Candidate School in 1980 and went on to build an impressive 28-year Army career.
From 1986 to 1988, he commanded the 2nd Support Battalion in Baumholder, West Germany, leading soldiers and carrying the responsibilities entrusted to him. He ultimately retired from the United States Army at Fort Carson, Colorado, in 1992.
Twentyeight years of service. Two tours in Vietnam. A lifetime of dedication to something greater than himself.
At Brave Souls United, we believe the men and women who have served our nation deserve more than our gratitude. They deserve connection, brotherhood, purpose, and opportunities to continue building meaningful relationships long after their military careers end.
Thatโs what bringing veterans together through the outdoors is all about. Itโs about honoring their stories, sharing experiences, and strengthening the bonds that remind us none of us has to walk this road alone.
LTC Eddie Helton, thank you for your decades of honorable service and for being part of the brotherhood that makes this community so special.
Once a soldier, always a soldier. ๐บ๐ธ
