🎀 Going Pink for October! 🎀

Throughout the month of October, our officers will be wearing pink badges as a small show of support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer has touched so many of our families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. We’re proud to wear pink to honor those who have fought, those who are still fighting, and those we have lost. 💗

We are grateful for programs like the Child ID program from Justice for Sierah that give law enforcement another valuable tool when we need it most.

This Child ID was recently used by our officers to assist in locating a missing child. Having this information readily available can make a critical difference when every second matters.

Thank you to Justice for Sierah for providing this important resource and helping keep our community’s children safe. 💜

This is exactly why Print & Protect was created. 💜

The Perkins Township Police Department recently shared a powerful example of how having a KidPrint ID readily available can make a difference when every moment matters.

On August 17, a child who had previously received a KidPrint ID was reported missing after leaving their home during the early morning hours. Dispatchers were able to use the information on the child’s KidPrint ID to quickly enter them into LEADS as an endangered missing juvenile.

Most importantly, the child was located safe a short time later.

The department shared that the KidPrint ID contained all of the information dispatchers needed to quickly enter the child into the system. It’s a real-world example of why we work to put these resources into the hands of families and law enforcement agencies across Ohio.

Perkins Township Police Department received its Print & Protect unit during our 2026 rollout and has already issued approximately 200 KidPrint IDs to children in its community.

We are grateful for their partnership and, above all, thankful this story had a positive outcome.

🍬🎃 Help Us Fill Our Candy Buckets! 🎃🍬

We are now accepting candy donations for this year's Trunk-or-Treat and neighborhood trick-or-treating!

If you're able to help, please consider dropping off a bag (or two!) of candy at the Perkins Police Department. Our officers will use the donations to hand out treats to local kids during Trunk-or-Treat and while out visiting neighborhoods on Halloween!

Every little bit helps, and we appreciate the support of our community in helping make Halloween a little sweeter for our kids! 👻

Thank you for your generosity! ❤️

FYI

Road Work on SR4

Road work has begun on SR4 between Bogart Rd and Perkins Ave in Perkins Twp., and will continue through next year. Although traffic will be maintained by flaggers, it is recommended that an alternate route be taken, as delays are likely.
