🚨🚨 FRAUD ALERT — SCAM CALLS REPORTED 🚨🚨

We have received numerous reports of individuals calling area residents and falsely identifying themselves as law enforcement officers or deputy sheriffs.

The callers are claiming that the recipient has an outstanding warrant due to a missed federal grand jury subpoena and are demanding that the individual post bond immediately. The caller then instructs the victim to make the payment by depositing cash into a Bitcoin ATM.

🚨🚨 THIS IS A SCAM. 🚨🚨

Law enforcement agencies do not make these types of calls or demand payment for warrants in this manner. We will never instruct you to pay a warrant, bond, or fine by depositing cash into a Bitcoin ATM.

DO NOT send money, purchase gift cards, deposit cash into a Bitcoin ATM, or provide personal or financial information to anyone making these demands.

If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately. Do not follow the caller's instructions. If you believe you have received a fraudulent call, contact your local law enforcement agency using a verified phone number.

When in doubt, hang up. Don't pay. Don't engage.

Thank you for helping us spread the word and protect our community.
