🗳️ Returning Your Mail-In Ballot? Here's Where to Drop It Off in Sandwich!

Have you received your mail-in ballot for the November 3 State Election? If you plan to return it in person, Sandwich has an official ballot drop box at the Municipal Office Building, 100 Route 6A.

📍 How to find the ballot drop box:
When standing at the front entrance of the Municipal Office Building, take the path around the left side of the building. You’ll find the silver ballot drop box along the side of the building.

Other ways to return your ballot:

Mail it using the return envelope provided.
Hand-deliver it to the Town Clerk’s Office.
Drop it off at an early voting location during early voting hours.
⏰ Important deadline information: Your ballot must be received by the appropriate deadline to be counted. For the November 3 State Election, ballots returned by mail may arrive up to three days after Election Day, provided they are postmarked on or before November 3. This three-day extension applies to mailed ballots only — ballots placed in a drop box must be received by the close of polls on Election Day.

🚫 Mail-in ballots cannot be dropped off at polling places on Election Day.

143 early votes were cast on Tuesday, representing 0.8% of eligible voters.

481 total early votes have been cast so far, representing 2.7% of eligible voters.

Early Voting Starts Tomorrow!

Early voting for the November 2026 State Election begins tomorrow, Saturday, October 17.

Sandwich voters can vote early in person at the Center for Active Living at 70 Quaker Meetinghouse Rd during the following days/times:

📅 Saturday, October 17 - Friday, October 30
🕘Saturday, October 17 & Saturday, October 24: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
🕘 Monday, October 19-Friday, October 23: 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
🕘 Monday, October 26-Friday, October 30: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Early voting offers a convenient way to cast your ballot before Election Day on Tuesday, November 3.

Town offices will be closed today, Monday, October 12, in observance of the Federal Holiday. Regular business operations will resume Tuesday, October 13.

🗳️ 2026 Massachusetts State Election: Important Dates & Voting Information

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and there are several ways to cast your ballot in Sandwich.

We’ve put together a handy guide with important dates and information, including:
📅 In-person early voting — October 17–30 at the Sandwich Center for Active Living, with specific dates and hours listed in the graphic
📝 Voter registration deadline — October 24
📬 Vote-by-mail application deadline — October 27
🗳️ Election Day — November 3, 7:00 AM–8:00 PM
📮 Mail-in ballot deadline — November 6, with the State’s three-day grace period for ballots postmarked by Election Day

📬 Already applied to vote by mail? The Town Clerk’s Office sent out the first batch of mail-in ballots this past Tuesday, so keep an eye on your mailbox over the next week!
