-Fundraising events (Annual Mother's Day Auction for Sober Living Scholarships, dinners, cruises, raffles, yard sales, races, walks etc.)
-Weekly donations at our support meetings
-Birthday fundraisers on Facebook

Our charity supports all those who struggle with substance use disorder and their parents/family members or loved ones.

We hold weekly support meetings for of Parents/ Family members and loved one's coping/dealing with our child and/or loved one's addiction. From time to time we have speakers and then check in with everyone. We are there to support each other. Some of us have been attending these meetings for over 11 years. We have formed a strong bond and are always there for each other. No one knows what you are going through like another parent who has been there. We even have parents who attend who have lost a child and feel it is a way to help someone else. They are real warriors. MEETING TIME AND LOCATION:

We're so excited to welcome Alyssa as this weeks speaker!!

"My name is Alyssa. I used to look in the mirror and see a mistake, a person not worth anything, a monster. Today I see a beautiful woman capable of being a good wife, a good mom and a good human. A person with the ability to love and be loved.

I became addicted to alcohol right before high school, and everything, sports, education, friendships, love, was lost to it. Eventually I moved on to harder substances, and by 20 was homeless and hopeless. By the grace of God and the prayers of my family, I moved to Massachusetts and entered recovery. That was over 18 years ago.

Recovery gave me the ability to become the daughter and friend I always wished I could be. It eventually led me to my husband, and now I have my beautiful children, Brooklyn and Oliver. I've also been fortunate enough to dedicate my life to the service of others, a calling that brought me almost as much joy as my roles as a wife and mother.

I no longer feel inadequate or worthless. My pain and my journey have meaning now, because they give me the chance to offer hope to the next person; the way so many people offered hope to me. "

📣 PSP welcomes Jackie to this weeks speaker meeting! We hope you will join us to hear her story of hope and resilience!

“My name is Jackie, and I have been in recovery for over 7 years. Trauma and substance use have affected generations of my family. I began using ma*****na and alcohol at 12. By 19, I had two daughters and was trapped in a cycle of domestic violence and increasing substance use.
For years, my life was marked by loss, instability, separation, and homelessness. Without healthy role models or support, I repeatedly tried to overcome my struggles on my own. Isolated from my children and family for multiple years.
I found treatment through IOP and therapy. In February 2019, just four months into sobriety, my father died unexpectedly and that loss brought me home and gave me the fire to heal and live for him.
After returning home, I turned myself in and continued treatment through Gosnold. I learned that my recovery required addressing both my substance use and mental health.
Over these years, I faced custody battles, housing instability, and other challenges. But with support, I have gained an education, maintained my recovery, and employment. Today, I am married, my daughters are back in my life, I have a 2½-year-old son, and I am expecting a baby girl.
I now work as a Recovery Coach. Life is still hard, but without faith, treatment programs, community support, my church and recovery resources, I would not be alive or free today.”

🗣️PSP welcomes Kenny as our guest speaker at tonight’s (Monday 8/17) speaker meeting! On zoom or in person! 📣

“My name is Kenny, and I'm a person in long-term recovery.
I used to be Kenny the son, Kenny the friend, Kenny the athlete, Kenny with endless potential. As my addiction progressed, those identities slowly disappeared. I became Kenny the addict, Kenny the one everyone worried about, Kenny who couldn't stop no matter how badly he wanted to. Addiction didn't just take away my freedom—it took away my purpose, my relationships, and the person I knew I could be.
For years, I lived believing I wasn't worth saving. I burned bridges, hurt the people I loved most, and convinced myself that this was simply who I was. But recovery gave me something I never thought possible: a second chance.
Today, I have over 11 years in recovery, and while addiction will always be a part of my story, it no longer defines the limits of my life—it defines the purpose behind it.
Today, I serve as the Community Outreach Coordinator for Recovery Team Newton, where I have the privilege of helping individuals and families find hope and access treatment. I own Patty's Sanctuary Sober Living, creating safe, supportive housing for men beginning their recovery journey. I proudly serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors at Jeremiah's Inn in Worcester—the same halfway house where I graduated during my own recovery—and I use my voice as a poet to share the realities of addiction, recovery, and hope.
Recovery has given me a relationship with my family, a career built on service, and a life I once believed was impossible. My greatest purpose is to show others that recovery isn't just about putting down drugs or alcohol, it's about rebuilding a life worth living.
If sharing my story helps even one person believe that change is possible, then every challenge I faced has become part of something greater than myself.”

What Families Living With Addiction Wish You Understood.

If addiction has never entered your home, you may see the dysfunction and wonder, Why they don't just walk away. Why do they keep helping? Why can't they make them stop?

What you might not see are the sleepless nights, the unanswered calls, or the fear that every knock at the door could bring devastating news.

You don't see them grieving someone who is still alive--missing who their loved one was before they became sick and desperately hoping they'll find their way back.

You may mistake their boundaries for cruelty, their exhaustion for indifference, or their silence for shame. But most families have spent years loving, pleading, rescuing, forgiving, breaking- and getting back up to love again.

What these families need isn't judgment or advice about what they should do.

They need compassion. They need support. They need someone willing to sit beside them in the uncertainty and say, "I might not understand your journey, but I'm here to listen."

So before you judge a family for how they're surviving, remember: they're learning to hold hope in one hand and heartbreak in the other--and somehow they keep choosing love.
