Early voting begins soon at Sandwich Public Library District! All DeKalb County voters can vote at the library October 19–30, every day, including weekends, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Voting takes place in the Social Gathering Room at 925 S. Main St. For voting questions, contact the DeKalb County Elections Office at 815-895-7147.

Meet Laufey, this year’s honorary chair of Library Card Sign-Up Month!

The Grammy-winning singer and songwriter is also a big reader and founder of the Laufey Book Club, a worldwide community of readers.

She recently made her children’s book debut with Mei Mei the Bunny, a story about a little bunny finding the courage to share her musical dreams.

We have something NEW in our Kids Area!

Stop by and pick up a FREE F.A.R.M. Bag, courtesy of DeKalb County Farm Bureau Agricultural Literacy! Each bag includes a themed, hands-on activity, step-by-step instructions, necessary supplies, and additional reading materials to keep the learning going.

A new theme will be available each month, and we’re kicking off September with APPLES! 🍎

Two September dates to keep in mind!

The library will be closed Monday, September 7 for Labor Day and the building will be closed Saturday, September 12 for scheduled cleaning.

While the building is closed on September 12, staff will be on site and curbside service will be available for book pickup, scanning, faxing, copying, book locker requests, and sticker renewals.

To help us better assist you, please call ahead at 815-786-8308. Curbside service will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we give the library a little refresh!
