BOOSTing Our Mission Forward:

Exciting news! We’ve received the GA Department of Education’s BOOST grant to help us expand, improve, and make our after-school and summer academic enrichment programs more accessible than ever. This is a huge step forward in our mission to transform youth and English Language Learning families in our community.

Our story began in 1999 when the number of Latino immigrants moving into Sandy Springs significantly increased.
These families endured many challenges like learning English, a lack of job opportunities, and
low education. A group of thoughtful neighbors and members of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church saw a need in our community, formed the Sandy Springs Mission, and began lending support to these families.
Originally, The Mission provided financial assistance to meet urgent needs. Over time, the focus shifted to education: improving high school graduation rates, advancing English language skills, and providing access to higher education for English Language Learners.
In our early years, we partnered with one elementary school to provide after school academic enrichment programs to 12 English learners. Now, in our 25th year, we are honored to positively impact more than 425 students annually through partnerships with six elementary, middle, and high schools in Fulton County and two local colleges. Together, we are investing in the future of our community, one student at a time.

✨ Sandy Springs Mission goes beyond after-school programs! ✨
Through our partnership with Toccoa Falls College, our Dual Enrollment Program helps high school students overcome obstacles and earn college credits while still in high school.

🎓 For all our Riverwood and North Springs students — enrollment opens this November!

🌍✈️ Summer Camp Adventure! ✈️🌍
After three unforgettable weeks, our “Around the World” Summer Camp is almost coming to an end!

Elementary and middle school language learners explored Europe, Asia, and beyond - creating passports, diving into hands-on activities, hearing new stories, and discovering different cultures. We even had a real flight attendant join us to share about international travel! 🌎✨

This camp was more than just fun - it blended creativity, academic enrichment, and global learning in a supportive, engaging environment. We’re so proud of our campers for their engagement, courage, and growth.

Thank you to every student, volunteer, and parent who made this journey possible! 💫📚✈️
