Museum Statement on the Attack on Israel

OCTOBER 8, 2023

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is outraged by Hamas’s unconscionable attack on Israel, killing hundreds, and targeting Israeli citizens for kidnapping, including a Holocaust survivor, according to the U.S. Department of State.

Museum Chair Stuart E. Eizenstat said, “These vile acts by this terrorist organization must be universally condemned and all hostages immediately released. Our prayers are with all Israelis, including the many Holocaust survivors who helped build the State of Israel, where they could finally live in the freedom and security they deserved after centuries of persecution, and ultimately genocide.”

On Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 at 6:00 pm, please join Patrice Weaver and Judy Schancupp of the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust as they share the amazing survival story of Judy's family member, Itka Frogman Zygmuntowicz. The event is free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 6:30 pm, Patrice Weaver will give a presentation to library patrons at the South Cobb Regional Library in Mableton, Ga. The event is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, Patrice Weaver will be giving a talk at the Cu***ng Library at 2:00 pm to go along with the exhibit "Witness to the Holocaust: WWII Veteran William Alexander Scott III". The exhibit will be at the library until Sept. 12, 2023.
