Rainy, cold weather called for grilled cheese sandwiches and hot tomato soup at Entrada! 🥪🍅

We thought a warm meal would be a good way to fill our students’ stomachs and put a smile on their faces. Judging by these pictures, we think it worked!

Thank you to our staff for helping cook, serve, and make the day a little brighter for our students. We love our Entrada Navigators! 💙💚

We are so proud to celebrate Shawna Burke and Sonia Rey, who were recently recognized with the Red Shoes Living Award from Canyons School District’s Student Wellness Services department! ❤️👟 This award recognizes employees who show kindness, respect, and gratitude while making a difference for others.

Shawna and Sonia were nominated because of the care they show our students every day. Many Entrada students are balancing school with work, family responsibilities, and difficult circumstances. Having someone who takes time to listen and help can make all the difference.

Sonia gives students the time and attention they deserve. She listens to their whole story, helps them navigate community resources and social services, and works with students and families to find solutions. She makes sure students know they have someone who will advocate for them and help them take their next step.

Shawna is at the heart of so many connections at Entrada. Students gravitate toward her because she is kind, cheerful, and interested in how they are doing. She remembers names, notices when someone is having a hard day, and celebrates their progress. From creating our student library to coordinating snacks through the Utah Food Bank, she finds ways to make our school more welcoming and supportive.

Together, they help students feel noticed, valued, and comfortable asking for help. They aren’t looking for praise. They roll up their sleeves and get to work because they care about people.

Thank you to the Student Wellness Services team for coming to Entrada and helping us celebrate two of our own. Seeing our students share in that celebration made it even more special.

Congratulations, Shawna and Sonia! You make Entrada a better place, and we are so grateful for you! 💙💚

Yesterday, we got to celebrate Brody earning his high school diploma! 🎓

His path to graduation wasn’t always easy, but he never gave up on his goal. He kept showing up, kept working, and yesterday he got to see that hard work pay off. We’re all so proud of him!

Brody, you earned this, and we hope you’re as proud of yourself as we are of you. We can’t wait to see what you do next. You’ll always be part of our Entrada family!

Today was the first day of English classes for the school year, and we were so happy to welcome our students! 💙💚

Our Entrada Navigators come from many different places and have many different goals. We’re proud of our friends and neighbors who are learning English to connect with others, find new opportunities, and feel more at home in their communities.

We’re glad to be part of your journey. Here’s to a great year together!

Education does not belong to one age, one ability, or one path.

Mike earned his high school diploma in his 50s while navigating school as a blind student. Ed left high school when he was young to serve in the military. Decades later, he completed what he had started and proudly became a graduate as a senior citizen.

Their journeys were very different, but both showed that a person’s potential does not expire.

Adult learners may step away from education because of work, family responsibilities, military service, health, disability, or circumstances beyond their control. They deserve the opportunity to return, receive the support they need, and complete their goals.

Education is for everyone. It is never too late. 🎓

Adult education is not only about finishing high school. It is also about what comes next.

Last year, four Entrada students completed our WGU College Bridge program and earned college credit. They gained experience with college level coursework, developed stronger academic skills, and proved to themselves that they could succeed in higher education.

For many adult learners, college may once have felt out of reach. The right preparation, support, and opportunity can change that.

Adult education helps students earn a diploma, prepare for the transition to college, and begin building a future with greater career options and earning potential.

A diploma opens the door. College opportunity helps students see how far they can go. 🎓

A parent’s education can change the future of an entire family.

When adults improve their literacy, earn a diploma, and develop new skills, they are better positioned to qualify for higher paying jobs and careers that offer family sustaining wages.

Greater income and stability help parents provide for their children, meet essential needs, and create more opportunities for their families. Children may have better access to books, technology, reliable transportation, educational activities, and the support they need to participate fully in school.

They also see something powerful at home. They see that education matters, difficult goals can be reached, and their own future can be different.

Adult education does more than change one life. It creates economic mobility, strengthens families, and helps break cycles of intergenerational poverty. Its impact can carry forward for generations. 💙💚

📚 Learning English creates opportunity.

It helps adults communicate at work, qualify for better jobs, support their children in school, understand essential information, and participate more fully in the communities they call home.

Entrada’s English language learners come from many different countries and bring valuable skills, experiences, cultures, and perspectives with them. They are also united by something deeply American: the desire to work hard, provide for their families, become more self sufficient, and build a better future.

Teaching English is an investment in stronger families, a more prepared workforce, and communities where more people can contribute and succeed.

During Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, we celebrate the courage it takes to learn a new language and the determination of every student working to create a life filled with greater opportunity. 🌎📚

Adult education helps students build more than academic skills. It helps them build futures.

At Entrada, adult education students explore careers. Through hands on training and partnerships with local employers, students develop practical skills while learning what it takes to succeed in the workplace.

Our goal is to help students enter high demand careers that offer family sustaining wages, greater financial independence, and opportunities for continued advancement.

During Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, we celebrate the students, instructors, employers, and community partners working together to create pathways to better careers and stronger families.

🎓 This week, Entrada Adult High School proudly celebrates Adult Education and Family Literacy Week!

Our students have followed many different paths to Entrada. Here, they can earn a high school diploma, learn English, prepare for college, develop workforce skills, explore career training, and create new opportunities for themselves and their families.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing some of the people, programs, and accomplishments that demonstrate the life-changing power of adult education.

Every student has a story. Every goal matters. And every step forward is a step of strength. 💙💚
