Support Commissioner Lynn Coker for Curry County Commissioner

As a former Curry County Commissioner and current Oregon State Senator, I am writing to urge voters to elect Commissioner Lynn Coker to the Curry County Board of Commissioners.

Commissioner Coker has demonstrated exactly the kind of leadership Curry County needs: steady, transparent, and focused on the difficult work of governing. During his time on the commission, he has tackled budgets, accountability, inventory controls, and oversight issues that directly affect taxpayers. He has shown a willingness to ask tough questions and insist on responsible stewardship of public resources.

I have worked closely with Commissioner Coker on issues critical to our region, including our shared opposition to offshore wind development off the Southern Oregon Coast. Throughout that effort, he has been a strong advocate for coastal communities, commercial fishing, local economies, and the voices of Curry County residents.

This election is ultimately about trust, judgment, and proven leadership. Voters should carefully examine the public record of all candidates. County Commissioners oversee taxpayer dollars, make decisions affecting public safety, and are entrusted with significant responsibilities. Those seeking public office should be held to the highest standards of accountability, transparency, and integrity.

Lynn Coker has earned the confidence of Curry County through his work, his professionalism, and his commitment to serving the public interest. At a time when our county faces serious challenges and important decisions, experience and sound judgment matter.

More Oregonians are wanting to leave Oregon due to Kotek and Democrats ever increasing taxes, and little to no return on their investment.

But you don’t have to leave, you only need to vote for change, fiscal accountability and lower taxes and fees.

I recently stopped by the Oregon Humane Society in Portland, and it was hard to leave without another furry friend! The folks working there are absolute treasures and were so helpful and informative.

Other residents were volunteering their time sitting and playing with the dogs and cats, taking dogs on walks and just giving the animals the love, attention and affection they need.

My heart, and that of all Oregonians, is with the families and the Bend community today. My thoughts and prayers go out to the children and teacher who were lost, to those still fighting for their lives, their families and friends, and to everyone trying to make sense of this senseless tragedy, one that again shows how desperately we need to confront mental health crises before they turn deadly.

I’m also so grateful for the father who, in a split second, ran toward the gunfire, stopped the shooter, and saved countless lives. That kind of courage is hard to put into words, and we will forever be indebted to him.

Oregon is holding the whole Bend community in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
