We want to congratulate Hunter for receiving the Lee County Stars Award for Leadership! Hunter was nominated by one of his peers for the leadership skills he displayed on one of his many walking tours of downtown Sanford through the LCL Local History Club, which he established in 2023. Hunter also facilitates partnerships with the NCDigital Heritage Center and Newspapers.com to ensure free access for patrons to thousands of newspapers, photographs, yearbooks and more from Lee County. Hunter's knowledge of Sanford and Lee County's history, and willingness to share that knowledge with others, made him a perfect candidate for the Lee County Stars Award for Leadership. We are so proud of Hunter's continued accomplishments, and for representing the Lee County Libraries through his hard work and dedication!

"I like drinking apple cidar, and that it's sweater weather!"

Rebekah also shared what makes her think of fall:

"Fall makes me think of school starting back and scary movies, even though I don't watch them."

The children's department shelving cart has gone on strike! After assisting the librarians all morning with putting away picture books, juvenile fiction, graphic novels, easy readers, and more, this cart has called it quits. Maybe a midafternoon nap will help it get its energy back?
