Increased Risk of Wildfire Due to Elevated Fire Danger -- Thursday, June 18, 2026

The National Weather Service has issued fire danger statements for central and eastern North Carolina. What does increased fire danger mean for you today?

🎯 Fires can start from the smallest spark.
🎯 Dry conditions and wind increase fire spread.
🎯 Everyday activities carry more risk right now.

Avoid burning, and be cautious with anything that could cause a spark. Properly dispose of smoking materials such as ci******es. Be extremely careful with machinery and farm equipment when working outdoors.

Contact your N.C. Forest Service county ranger's office for guidance.

Spread prevention, not wildfire.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms in our community and especially to the strong, dedicated mothers serving in the fire service.

Today we recognize the women who answer the call, protect our neighborhoods, and still find time to care for their families with love and strength. Your commitment, courage, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

We also want to thank the mothers who support our firefighters from home. Your patience, encouragement, and understanding make it possible for us to do what we do every day.

From all of us at Tramway , we wish you a safe, happy, and well deserved Mother’s Day! ❤️🚒

🚨 Attention Lee County Residents 🚨

The NC Forestry burn ban has been lifted—but let’s not take that as a green light to burn everything in sight. 🔥😅

Yes, we’ve had some rain. Yes, it’s a beautiful day—but remember:
💨 Windy conditions can turn a small fire into a big problem fast
🌿 Those yard piles may look harmless, but they’re still dry underneath and can ignite quickly

If you choose to burn, please use good judgment, stay with your fire at all times, and keep an eye on changing conditions. Burn bans can be reissued if things dry out again.

Let’s keep Lee County safe while we enjoy the nice weather! 👍

Effective Monday, Dec. 29, the National Weather Service has issued a **🚩🚩RED FLAG WARNING 🚩🚩** for some North Carolina counties. Review weather alerts for North Carolina at weather.gov.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create dangerous fire behavior.

Fire danger will be elevated, especially across central North Carolina. While open burning is permitted during a red flag, it is NOT advised. Please postpone all outdoor burning.

Careless debris burning is the leading cause of wildfires in North Carolina, and you are our best defense against wildfire. For wildfire readiness and prevention tips: preventwildfirenc.org
