Thank you to the Woods Elementary School Robotics Club for visiting Fire Station 85 for a station tour! During their visit, the girls shared an impressive presentation on a sprinkler system they developed to assist with wildfire suppression. It was great to see their creativity, teamwork, and passion for using technology to help protect our communities. We appreciate the opportunity to learn about their innovative ideas and encourage the next generation of problem-solvers.

πŸ”₯ New Employee Orientation πŸš’

It was a great day of hands-on training for our newest employees! Our new employee orientation covered a variety of essential firefighting skills, including:

πŸš— Auto extrication
πŸ’§ Pumping from a draft
πŸͺš Chainsaw maintenance
πŸš’ First-arriving engine placement and reporting conditions at a structure fire
🌬️ Ventilation
🧰 Forcible entry

Training like this helps build the knowledge, confidence, and teamwork our firefighters need to serve and protect our communities!

It was also great to see our Fire Chief take time out of his busy schedule to stop by, observe the training, and chat with our instructors and students.

But let’s be honest… the real boss was Jake! 🐢 He made sure everyone, from the instructors to the students, stayed on task. You could say he takes his supervisory duties very seriously! πŸ˜‚ The County of Fresno
