Youth Flag Football Update 🚨 ⚠️

Due to the extreme heat forecast for this weekend, all Santa Ana Parks and Recreation youth flag football games scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2, Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, have been postponed to a later date.

The safety and well-being of our players, coaches, and families remain our top priority. With temperatures expected to reach 104°F, we want to prioritize everyone’s safety during these extreme conditions.

Imagine being able to mend, tailor or even create something of your own!

Sewing was once a skill passed down, and now you can learn it for yourself through Parks and Recreation’s Contract Class!

Contract classes give our community the opportunity to explore unique hobbies and hands-on skills beyond Parks and Rec programming.

Every Saturday at Jerome Recreation Center, instructor Roxanne Aguilar teaches Level 1 and Level 2 sewing. Start with the basics, like threading a sewing machine, cutting and pinning fabric, and sewing straight lines and corners. Then, take your skills further by learning machine tension, creating ruffles, changing presser feet, and more. Classes are offered as multi-session series, giving you time to learn, practice, and build your skills along the way.
