The Revised Draft Santa Barbara County Recreation Master Plan is now here! Visit www.sbcrecplan.com to view the plan. On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the County Planning Department and County Parks Division will conduct a workshop with the County Planning Commission regarding the upcoming Comprehensive Plan and Ordinance Amendments related to the Recreation Master Plan.

This is our last weekend of in-person outreach! We will have virtual public workshops sometime next month, but we are closing the survey on July 5th. If you want your voice to be heard, now is the time. Here's where our team will be this week:
Thursday, 6/30 at 4pm: Our team member Taylor will join a workshop facilitated by 3rd District Planning Commissioner John Parke at the Hook'd Bar and Grill at Lake Cachuma for a conversation about your recreational needs. Cachuma Lake Recreation Area HOOK’d Bar and Grill
Thursday 6/30 at 4:30pm: Our intern team will be at the adult softball games at Jack O'Connell Park in Guadalupe until around 7:30pm.
Friday 7/1 at noon: Taylor and John will be hosting another workshop at the Cuyama Buckhorn. Cuyama Valley Recreation District
Saturday 7/2: Our team will be at Point Sal in the morning and at Preisker Park in Santa Maria in the afternoon. City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks

We have some exciting outreach events coming up in North County this week! Join us at Little House by the Park (Family Service Agency) in Guadalupe this Thursday at 11am for their food distribution, where we'll also be handing out our survey and other Rec Plan goodies. Then, join us at Downtown Fridays Santa Maria as we dance and eat the night away! We'll be there starting at 5:30.
At both events, we'll be tabling alongside County of Santa Barbara - Public Works as they promote their Active Transportation Plan! Learn how you can play and get around better in Santa Barbara County this Thursday and Friday. See you there!
