🦉 Look “whooooooo” needed a little assistance!

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to an unusual call in Los Olivos after an owl found itself stuck inside a chimney. Thankfully, crews were able to safely rescue the feathered friend and send it on its way. ✨

A purr-fect weekend rescue. 🐾

Station 30 firefighters safely rescued a kitten that was found stuck inside a vehicle engine compartment. We’re happy to report the tiny passenger is safe and sound.

Over the weekend, crews responded to the 1700 block of San Marcos Pass Rd. after a 30-year-old horse fell into a ditch and was at risk of falling into a creek. Santa Barbara County Fire responded, with assistance from Santa Barbara City Fire Department.

The horse’s veterinarian sedated the horse, allowing crews to safely rescue and return it to stable ground. The horse was not injured. 🐴🚒

Calling all future women in fire 👩🏻‍🚒🔥

If you’ve ever been curious about a career in the fire service, this is such a great opportunity to get hands-on experience and learn from professionals in the field. The Women’s Fire Camp at Allan Hancock College gives participants the chance to try fire service skills, build confidence, and connect with local departments.
