Safety starts with preparation! 🏡

At SRG Senior Living, we know that being prepared for an emergency is an important part of keeping our community safe, so our Casitas and Cottages recently participated in an evacuation drill, putting emergency preparedness front and center.

Practicing these procedures helps reinforce the importance of knowing what to do when it matters most. It's one of the ways we keep safety a priority at Maravilla!

Maravilla’s Assisted Living residents found a little extra breathing room for yoga class! 🧘‍♀️

Taking their seated practice outdoors, our residents enjoyed some fresh air while their instructor encouraged everyone to move at their own pace. A gentle breeze set a relaxing mood, and balloons brought a playful touch to the routine.

Sometimes, a change of scenery is all it takes to turn a familiar class into a mini outdoor retreat. ☀️

It's game on at Maravilla! 🏐📣

Our Assisted Living residents were ready to bring their competitive spirit to a recent volleyball tournament. With friends cheering from the sidelines, waving pom-poms and celebrating every point, the excitement went well beyond the court.

One of our biggest sports fans, Halina, is already looking forward to her next match! With her 102nd birthday right around the corner, she's got her sights set on a victory: “I'm ready for a rematch whenever you can set this up. We have to beat the Green Giants!”

Sounds like we've got a rivalry brewing at MVSB... stay tuned!

Sometimes, all it takes is saying YES to a new adventure! ⛵🌊

Maravilla's residents and team members headed out into the harbor and open ocean to test their courage and enjoy the salty sea breeze. It was a perfect example of The Longevity Club's “Just Say YES!” philosophy.

One resident captured the experience beautifully: “I felt the grandiosity of the ocean and I’m at peace with the Earth. Thank you for this experience!”

Maravilla Santa Barbara took a trip back to the , and our residents came dressed for the occasion! From retro outfits to treasured memorabilia, the celebration brought back memories of an era they know so well. Stories were shared, and for a little while, it felt like being teenagers all over again.

Sarah Adams’s curiosity about America’s founding found its way to the stage! 🎭🇺🇸

Inspired by what she’d been reading and watching about the founding fathers ahead of America’s 250th anniversary of independence, Sarah wrote an original play for the Maravilla Santa Barbara Players.

On October 5th, our resident performers brought her work to life, stepping into the roles of Paul Revere, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John and Abigail Adams, and other historical figures, even including King George III. The cast brought its own lively personality to this look back at 1776!

Bravo to Sarah and our Resident Players for turning a fascination with history into something the whole community could enjoy. We're excited to see what she does next!

Golden hour has a way of showing off the best of Maravilla Santa Barbara.

As the sun begins to set, our courtyard takes on a beautiful evening glow, with lush greenery and inviting spaces that make it easy to linger a little longer. Monarch offers the setting for dinner with friends, while Mariposa is suited to a more casual lunch. Through "Dine Your Way," restaurant service is available for 12 hours each day, with fresh daily specials and menus that continue to evolve. The result is less dependence on a single serving window and more freedom to let meals fit naturally around the rest of the day.

Maravilla’s outdoor common spaces don't close when the sun goes down! 🌅

At night, the pool courtyard becomes a series of smaller gathering places: lounge chairs near the water, café tables for conversation, and seating around the outdoor fireplace. The illuminated pool and Spanish-style architecture give the setting the atmosphere of a small Santa Barbara resort, but the experience can be as simple as stepping outside after dinner without getting in the car.

It's an amenity designed as a place to linger, and we're so proud of it.

There was a lot to discover at Maravilla’s recent "Health and Wellness Fair," including a few guests with stories worth hearing! 🚲

Author Beth Amine joined us to share her perspective on living with purpose and curiosity. At 80, Beth has published three books, including "Joyous Everyday Living." We also welcomed Dagmar Brewer, a dedicated Trishaw Pilot with Cycling Without Age, a program that takes our residents out for rides through the community with volunteer pilots who bring decades of travels and stories along for the journey.

Live guitar music set the tone as guests sampled cuisine, toured our apartment homes and learned more about the people and programs that make wellness part of everyday life at Maravilla!
