It’s Prime Day! Please consider adding an item or two from our Amazon wish list to your prime day order. Our list includes plenty of animal related essentials like cat toys, litter boxes, cat trees, and dog treats. We are also in need of some not-so-glamorous items that make a big difference behind the scenes, including new chairs for our play yard, a table to hold our guinea pig and turtle cages, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, and more. Wondering why something is on our Wishlist? We added descriptions to our items so you can see exactly why we are asking for them and how they will be used! Visit www.svaca.com/wishlist or the link in our bio to see all our needs. Thank you for supporting the animals in our care — we couldn’t do it without our amazing community! Also, we hope you enjoy the free toe beans.

In Santa Clara, ACO Castro responded to a report of 20-30 cats that showed up in a residential community.  The community was concerned that the cats were breeding as there were already 10 kittens! Officer Castro located some concerned residents who were feeding the cats and kittens. The neighborhood was educated about TNR and responsible feeding, then he and several residents were able to safely capture close to 25 cats and kittens. Many of the juvenile cats and kittens were spayed and neutered and placed up for adoption while the others went through our TNR program. TNR helps control the overpopulation of community cats and to keep the current population healthy.

We have a working theory that the dogs got together after hours and decided they were all going for a slick back look this week. Cali (photo 1) has since found a lovely place to call home, but Logan (photos 2 & 3), is still searching for his!

Happy tails from the field! In Los Gatos, Officers Morris and Beltran responded to a report of a deer tangled in a rope. They quickly arrived and saw an adult buck caught in a swing rope. He only had about 20 feet of movement. A nearby neighbor offered to help, and they were able to work together to distract the buck and safely cut the rope. The buck was successfully released and left the area on his own!
