Economic development doesn’t happen in isolation.
It happens when the right partners are in the room: public leaders, education partners, utilities, brokers, employers, workforce leaders, and community champions working together to protect jobs, solve problems, and strengthen the long-term competitiveness of the Santa Clarita Valley.
That was the spirit of our 2026 Public Officials Night, hosted at California Institute of the Arts.
In his remarks, SCVEDC President & CEO Ondré Seltzer shared how our Made in SCV initiative is helping tell a bigger story about the companies, industries, products, talent, and innovation that come from this valley and reach far beyond it.
From creative industries and life sciences to aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and more, the Santa Clarita Valley continues to prove that this is a place where companies can start, grow, innovate, and stay.
One powerful example is Boston Scientific’s decision to remain in the Santa Clarita Valley, retaining more than 650 high-paying positions in our community. This was one of the largest business retention successes for SCVEDC and was made possible through collaboration with Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s office, CBRE, and many local and regional partners.
That is what Made in SCV looks like in action: high-quality jobs protected, industry strength reinforced, and companies choosing to invest in the Santa Clarita Valley for the long term.
Thank you to the public officials, public sector partners, board members, business leaders, education partners, and community leaders who continue to show up for the future of the SCV.
We would also like to thank the public officials and representatives who joined us for the evening, including:

The numbers were equal. The decision wasn’t.
“I went to Texas. I went to Nevada. I went to Arizona. I even put in an offer on a building in Vegas.”
And still, the Santa Clarita Valley was the right move.
For Nycote Laboratories Corporation, the decision wasn’t just about finding another building. It was about finding the right place to grow.
After weighing multiple options, Nycote chose the SCV for its newest chapter. It's a move that positioned the company to keep growing its work in aerospace and defense from its new headquarters in Valencia.
This is what Economic Development in Action looks like.
When innovative companies are deciding where to grow, the Santa Clarita Valley offers more than space.
It offers confidence.
Watch Marcie Washburn share why Nycote chose the SCV.

From Santa Clarita to the Moon. Yes, We’re Part of It.
With the NASA Artemis II mission safely returned from the Moon, it’s worth noting that this effort is powered by a nationwide network of suppliers, manufacturers, and engineers working together to make it possible… including companies right here in the Santa Clarita Valley.
While major contractors led the mission, thousands of suppliers supported critical components and systems. That includes firms in our region, such as Lamsco West, which is part of NASA’s Artemis supply chain as an Orion spacecraft supplier, as well as a broader network of advanced manufacturers and aerospace partners across Southern California.
This is where our region stands out.
Our strength in precision manufacturing, engineering, and aerospace innovation positions Santa Clarita as a quiet but important contributor to these historic missions.
📍 Located within one of the nation’s leading aerospace clusters, the SCV continues to support technologies that are quite literally reaching beyond our planet.
The future of space exploration is built through collaboration and the Santa Clarita Valley is proud to be part of that story.
