Week 4: Building Trust, Finding Strength & Leaving a Legacy
Sunshine, warm weather, and another incredible day of connection for our iLEAD Agua Dulce high school pack!
They kicked off Week 4 by stretching, moving, and waking up their bodies before taking on a challenge that required a little courage and a whole lot of trust! Blindfolded learners relied on their partners to guide them along a winding creek bed trail before switching roles. Through the experience, they discovered what it means to trust someone else to lead and what it takes to be the person someone trusts.
Throughout this journey, the stories of Wolf Connection’s rescued wolf ancestors continue to inspire meaningful conversations. Each wolf has a unique story of survival, resilience, and belonging, offering our learners opportunities to draw connections to their own lives and the world around them.
One of the day's highlights? We had the incredible privilege of entering Annie and Torben’s habitat! Annie, a remarkable three-legged wolf, is a beautiful example of perseverance. Her story reminds us that the obstacles we face don’t have to define us and that resilience and strength come in many forms.
Learners also had opportunities to spend quiet moments near wolves they felt drawn to, reflect at another medicine wheel, and begin imagining something bigger than themselves: What legacy will the iLEAD Agua Dulce pack leave behind for the wolves and future visitors to Wolf Connection?
Four weeks down, four to go!
They have officially reached the halfway point of this eight-week journey, and something pretty special is happening. We’re watching our learners grow; not just as individuals, but as a pack. They’re building trust, discovering their strengths, making meaningful connections, and learning that everyone has a story worth understanding.
