📣 Early Childhood Educators: Here’s something to celebrate!

The SEED Act is now law! This bipartisan legislation extends the federal educator expense tax deduction to eligible early childhood educators, recognizing the personal investments many make in their classrooms.

From books and learning materials to classroom supplies, educators deserve recognition for the resources they provide to help children learn and grow. 💛📚

Let’s continue supporting the educators who make a difference in the lives of our youngest learners!

Thank you Congressman Jimmy Panetta and Santa Cruz Superintendent of Schools Dr. Faris Sabbah

Rain happens, but staying dry shouldn't be a luxury.

As we prepare for the rainy season, the Emergency Weather Shelter at People First is collecting essential rain gear to help our unhoused neighbors stay as safe and dry as possible when the weather turns.

We're collecting:

Umbrellas, tarps, bungee cords & ponchos
Backpack rain covers
Waterproof rain jackets, rain pants & rain boots
Rain jackets and rain boots for dogs — all sizes welcome!
Other waterproof clothing

📅 October 19 | 1–6 p.m.
📍 Santa Cruz Veterans Hall
846 Front Street, Santa Cruz

Every donation helps someone face the elements with a little more protection and dignity. And yes, our four-legged neighbors need to stay dry, too!

Have rain gear to spare? Bring it by, spread the word, and help us prepare our community for the wet weather ahead.

Let's look out for our neighbors, rain or shine.
