Happy Birthday, Kim!🎂

Today we celebrate the woman who keeps us all in line, answers all of our questions, (including ones we should know the answer too) and somehow still puts up with all of us!

We are beyond thankful to have you as our back bone of Santa Fe Fire. Thank you for everything you do, for keeping the balance, and being such a huge support for all of us. We promise to be on our best behavior… atleast until tomorrow😆

We hope your birthday is filled with laughter and ZERO work related phone calls! You deserve to be celebrated today and every day! 🎉🎈🎂

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!

🔥 Tuesday Training at Santa Fe Fire & Rescue! 🔥

Tonight, our crews practiced vertical ventilation using the roof prop generously donated by Max Roofing LLC! This prop provides valuable hands-on practice to help our firefighters prepare for emergency operations.

Our guest trainer tonight was Captain Ryan from Pearland FD who graciously shared his time and expertise.

Thank you Captain Ryan and Max Roofing LLC for supporting our department and investing in our training! 🚒

🔥 We kicked off Fire Prevention Week today! 🔥

Sparky had a great time helping teach our students at R.J. Wollam Elementary some important fire safety lessons and we’ll keep the fun going at Kubacak Elementary and Barnett Elementary later this week! 🚒🐾

Parents, this is a great time to keep the conversation going at home. Ask your kids what they learned today and let them show you! Talk through your family’s fire escape plan, check your smoke alarms, practice staying low under smoke, identify two ways out, and make sure everyone knows your family meeting place.

The more we practice these skills before an emergency, the more prepared our kids will be if they ever need them. ❤️🔥

A big THANK YOU to Golden Eagle Services for stopping by the fire station and dropping off some absolutely delicious cookies for our firefighters!

🚒 October is Fire Prevention Month! 🔥

Throughout the month, you may notice Santa Fe Fire & Rescue emergency apparatus at local schools and daycares. Don’t be alarmed .. our crews are out visiting students as part of our fire prevention and safety education efforts!

These visits give us the opportunity to teach children about fire safety, smoke alarms, emergency preparedness, calling 911, and what firefighters do in an emergency , all while helping them become comfortable around firefighters and emergency equipment.

If you see our trucks at a school or daycare this month, chances are we’re there helping build a safer community, one little firefighter-in-training at a time. ❤️🚒

Thank you for helping us spread the word, and happy Fire Prevention Month from Santa Fe Fire & Rescue!

As part of Santa Fe Fire & Rescue’s Fall Prevention Program, we want to help our community not only recognize fall risks, but also take steps to make their homes safer.

If you or a loved one has experienced a fall, simple home modifications can sometimes make everyday movement safer and easier. Precision Construction offers quotes for:

* Wheelchair ramps
* Chair rails and stair rails
* Handrails
* Entryway safety improvements
* Other accessibility upgrades

There’s something about the shoes left behind on the bay floor when the tones drop.

A pair of boots. A pair of flip-flops. Nothing fancy, just a quiet reminder that someone was standing here living an ordinary moment when the call came in.

In seconds, comfort is traded for gear. Conversations stop. Meals get left behind. Plans get put on hold. And those shoes stay right where they were stepped out of while their owner climbs onto an apparatus and heads toward someone else’s worst moment.

To most people, they’re just shoes on a concrete floor.

To us, they tell a story.

They mean someone answered the call.
They mean someone ran toward what others were running from.
They mean service before self.

And the best sight of all is seeing those same shoes picked back up when everyone comes home safe. ❤️‍🔥🚒

The empty shoes on the bay floor are a reminder: when the tones drop, everything else can wait.
