Troop 87 spent a week at Emerald Bay Scout Camp on Catalina Island. It's like going to a beach resort. Swimming, Paddleboarding, Kayaking, Snorkeling and a host of merit badges and other optional water activities made a incredible week. Unforgettable opportunities for the adults and scouts !

Troop 87 attended the Cuesta District Rendezvous, a reenactment of 1840's culture and practices. We had so much fun! We made butter from cream;we made Johnny cakes and fry bread; we did basketry, gold panning, saw blacksmiths making horseshoes. There was sheep shearing along with learning the benefits of lanolin and what processes lead to using the wool. It was a fun and informative weekend. Many of the staff and some attendees were dressed in period correct outfits. Knife throwing and hatchet throwing was also very popular.
We want to go back next year !!
