Behind that number are boys in the foster care system who deserve to have someone listen to them, advocate for their needs, and show up consistently in their lives.
You don't need to have all the answers or previous experience working with children. CASA provides the training and support you need to make a difference.

Movie Night was one for the books!🎬🍿

Our CASA volunteers and the children they serve came together for a special viewing of Toy Story 5, complete with popcorn, candy, dinner, and toys from the movie! It was a night full of smiles and excitement, creating special memories with their advocates.

A huge thank you to our Kids Committee for planning such a fun and memorable event, and to Toyota Of Santa Maria for hosting us and helping make the evening extra special!

🍂Have you been thinking about becoming a CASA but not sure you have the experience to get started? You don't need to have it all figured out! Our training is designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed.

Our Fall Advocate Training will be held in Santa Maria and runs November 3–14, allowing you to complete all 30 hours of training in just two weeks. You'll learn how to advocate for youth in the foster care system and gain practical tools to prepare you for your role.

Training and support don't stop once a CASA volunteer is sworn in! đź’™ We offer monthly Lunch & Learns to help our volunteers continue learning and discover new ways to support the youth they serve.

This month, volunteers across our three regional offices learned practical ways to have age-appropriate conversations about financial literacy, from budgeting and saving to understanding credit and needs versus wants. These conversations can help youth build healthy financial habits, grow their confidence, and develop the skills they need for greater financial independence.đź’°

Resource parents play an incredibly important role in a child's life, but their role is very different from that of a CASA volunteer. As a CASA, you advocate for a child in foster care by providing consistent support and help to ensure their voice is heard. You can make a meaningful difference without becoming a resource parent.

We are so grateful for sharing so much love with CASA! đź’›

She generously donated 21 hand-sewn bags filled with cozy self-care items, and the thought and effort behind each one make this gift extra special. As a young entrepreneur, she went out of her way to fundraise, sew the bags herself, and carefully fill each one with items to bring a little comfort and joy to the children we serve.

It means so much to see someone so young put so much heart into giving back to their community. Thank you, Sewing the Dream, for your kindness, your hard work, and for thinking of the children we serve. We are so lucky to have thoughtful people like you in our community!
