Santa Rosa Violence Prevention A collaborative effort focused on creating a healthy and resilient community by leading & mobilizing

Established in 2003, the Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force (MGPTF) was created in response to a significant increase in violent crimes in Santa Rosa. The residents of Santa Rosa made a 20-year commitment to support violence prevention efforts with the approval of MEASURE O (2004), a quarter-cent Transaction and Use Tax. Re-branded in 2015, Santa Rosa Violence Prevention (The Partnership) is a collaborative effort focused on creating a safe & healthy community by funding non-profit organizations and schools through the CHOICE Grant Program, strategic alignment of integrated opportunities for youth and families, and collaborating on community and civic engagement events. INVEST:
The CHOICE Grant Program was launched in 2006 with MEASURE O (2004) revenue and has invested over $10 million in grants to non-profit organizations and schools. LEAD:

🌟 Youth and Families Impacted by Violence Helped by Youth Outreach Team 🌟

New Hope for Youth has completed its first year as part of our Street Outreach and Crisis Response Team — and the impact has been powerful. Over the past year, the team has supported young people and families affected by gangs and violence through:

✨ Street outreach & crisis response
✨ Neighborhood check-ins
✨ Victim support
✨ Diversion & reentry services
✨ Whole-family support
✨ Positive, prosocial activities

📊 First-Year Highlights:
• 2,044 street outreach contacts
• 471 neighborhood climate checks
• Support for victims and families, including hospital visits after violent incidents
• 9,800+ hours of diversion and reentry services
• Educational workshops for 2,000+ family members and friends
• 103 prosocial events
• Intensive case management for 82 youth and their families

At the heart of this work are credible messengers—staff with lived experience who build trust and guide youth toward safer, healthier choices. Funded by the Public Safety and Violence Prevention Sales Tax, this program is making a meaningful difference in some of Santa Rosa’s most impacted neighborhoods.

💙 Together, we’re building safety, support, and new opportunities for our youth.
